The Boston Celtics have had a season no one expected this year. Without Jayson Tatum, the Celtics have ascended to second place in the Eastern Conference standings. Jaylen Brown has taken over the number-one spot in the lineup.
With Brown leading the way, the Celtics have the second-best offense in the NBA. Brown is playing the best basketball of his career without Tatum taking attention away from him. He was in the All-Star game, but had his All-Star break ruined by the city of Beverly Hills.
The Beverly Hills PD shut down an event that Brown was having at a house in town. Now, Brown is considering legal action against the city.

Celtics’ Jaylen Brown Considering Legal Action against Beverly Hills
According to Brown, the city levied falsehoods in its statement about the incident. Therefore, he is considering a lawsuit against the city for its actions. According to ESPN, Brown says that a decision will be made soon on whether or not he pursues legal action.
Brown made it clear that he is not happy with the city’s response.
“I’m not a legality type of pursuing guy, but you embarrassed my brand and my team. And I think that is unfair,” Brown told Andscape. “And for you to continue to tell untruths in your apology statement, I feel offended by it. I will circle back with my team this weekend, and we will make a decision.”
The city did apologize to Brown after he fired back that the initial statement was inaccurate.
“Upon further internal review, the City has determined that its prior public communication contained inaccurate information,” Beverly Hills officials wrote in a statement on Instagram. “Specifically, no permit application was submitted nor denied for the event, and the residence does not have any prior related violations on record. The City takes full accountability for the internal error that resulted in the inaccurate statement being distributed and is working to ensure it does not happen again.”

Celtics’ Star Jaylen Brown Still Feels Targeted by Beverly Hills
The city manager also apologized to Brown on behalf of Beverly Hills.
“The City’s previous statement about the weekend event at the Trousdale home was inaccurate, and on behalf of the City, I would like to apologize to Jaylen Brown and the Jannard family,” said City Manager Nancy Hunt-Coffey. “The City has a responsibility to its residents and neighborhoods to ensure adherence to established regulations for events held at private residences. These are designed to support the safety and welfare of neighbors and attendees. City staff observed circumstances that are believed to be City code violations, and for that reason alone, the event was ended.”
Brown mentioned to Andscape that he still feels targeted by the city, so he is not going to let this incident go.
“It’s hard to say that you were not being targeted.”
