General Alexus G. Grynkewich, Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), began an official visit to Greece on Friday following an invitation from Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS) General Dimitrios Choupis.

Grynkewich will remain in Greece from February 20 to February 21 for a series of high-level meetings focused on strategic and geopolitical developments.
On Friday, General Choupis received the NATO commander at Camp Papagou. The two leaders held talks at the HNDGS headquarters, where they discussed strategic priorities, current regional and international geopolitical developments, allied operations, and Greece’s contribution to NATO missions.
Officials later briefed the Supreme Allied Commander on Greece’s defense policy and the activities of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff.
During his visit, Grynkewich, accompanied by General Choupis, also met with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias.
The meetings reaffirmed Greece’s active role within NATO and underscored ongoing cooperation on security and defence matters.
