Vassilis Spanoulis confirmed as Greece’s head coach for World Cup 2027 qualifiers

The Hellenic Basketball Federation has confirmed that 43-year-old Vassilis Spanoulis will return as head coach of the Greek national team.

He beginning with the upcoming FIBA window that marks the start of the FIBA World Cup 2027 Qualifiers.

“The Hellenic Basketball Federation is pleased to announce that Vasilis Spanoulis will continue to offer his services as head coach of the Men’s National Team.

Coach Spanoulis will be present and will lead the team’s effort in the upcoming ‘windows’ of the 2027 World Cup qualifying matches, in Thessaloniki and Portugal.

The EOK wishes to express its sincere appreciation to Coach Spanoulis for his dedication and passion, as well as to the Monaco management for their understanding and excellent cooperation, which made possible the coach’s continued presence in the National Team.

EOK is convinced that the managements of the Greek teams, and in particular our two representatives in the EuroLeague, will do the same, understanding the importance of the games and fully empathizing with the national, sporting purpose.
