ERT has announced that the final of Sing for Greece 2026 was the most watched Greek national final for the Eurovision Song Contest in 15 years.
The final of Sing for Greece 2026 recorded an audience share of 30.5% with 2.664 million viewers watching the show for at least one minute. The show had an impressive reach for younger audiences, with a 74% share of male viewers aged between 18 and 24 years old.
In addition to those watching live on ERT1, 360,000 views were recorded through the ERTFLIX platform. While #SingForGreece topped the viral trends on Twitter during the final last night.

Akylas will have the privilege of representing Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna in May 2026. Greece will perform in the first half of the first semi-final on May 12.

Greece debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974, when they were represented by Marinella and the song âKrasi, thalassa kai tâagori mouâ, which finished in 11th place with 7 points. Three years later, Greece earned their first top 5 finish with Paschalis, Marianna, Robert, and Bessy, who finished in 5th place with âMathima solfegeâ. In 2001, Greece achieved their first top 3 placing with Antique and the song âI Would Die For Youâ. The song became a European hit and charted across the continent. In 2005, Helena Paparizou returned to the Eurovision stage as a solo artist and brought Greece their first, and to date only, victory. Her song âMy Number Oneâ won with 230 points, beating runners-up Malta by 38 points.
