Welcome to 10 Things to Buy, a monthly shopping list that helps you shop smarter by focusing on the 10 key items to add to your cart that month if your wardrobe is in need of a boost. As a Who What Wear editor for the past 11 years, I’ve spent many hours advising people on what to shop for during any given season, so you’re in good hands. Whether you’re shopping for cold weather, warm weather, a vacation, or a wedding, I’m here to offer up the most seasonally appropriate suggestions. Be sure to return at the start of each month for more.
I’ve always thought of April as the month in which we really break free of winter’s grip. We eased into warm weather during March and started to at least prep for spring shopping, but we’re officially in it, and you can finally start wearing the things you buy immediately, as opposed to those future 70-degree days. This month, I’m putting the focus on trend-forward items to buy that’ll add that fashion-person look to all of your outfits. Among them are the IYKYK color trend, spring’s It heels, and the pretty top of the season.
Without further ado, keep scrolling to shop the top 10 buys of April 2026.
Something Teal
Pastels are lovely, but if you want to look like a fashion person this spring (and beyond), the color trend to prioritize is teal. The bold color is a lovely contrast to neutrals, so you won’t be at a loss for what to pair it with.
Soft Brogues
Ballet flats and loafers are staples, but if you want to look the most 2026, the flat-shoe trend to buy this April is brogues made of soft leather. As you’ll see by the shoppable options below, it’s the most elegant and prettiest version of a brogue by a mile.
Bandana
I’ve been seeing bandana scarves absolutely everywhere, so if you’re seeking a way to make your outfits look fresh and interesting this season, add one to your wardrobe now.
Stiletto-Heel Flip-Flops
Last year was all about the kitten-heel flip-flops, but this year, stiletto-heeled thong sandals are the It style to shop. Hailey Bieber is one of the celebrities already putting this on display.
Big-Buckle Belts
As far as accessories go, *the* style to own this season is a big-buckle belt. The Western-inspired trend will transform any outfit it’s a part of—in the best way possible. Wearing it with the aforementioned bandana print is optional.
Scarf Top
The latest early 2000s trend to make a comeback is also one of the prettiest. Scarf tops are ready-made for nights out and warm-weather vacations and can be paired with anything from denim to miniskirts. Choosing just three to include here was nearly impossible, but I did my best.
Big Sunglasses
Tiny ’90s-inspired sunglasses are still cool, but the style I’m seeing more and more of as of late is oversize shades reminiscent of the ’70s and early 2000s. The Khaite x Oliver Peoples style Elsa Hosk has been wearing confirmed that I need a pair.
Low-Rise Flares
The most important pant style to buy this month is low-rise and flared. Whether you dress them down with a tee and flats or up with a scarf top and heels, you’ll look like a fashion person—trust me.
Pinky Ring
The pinky ring trend just keeps on rising, so you won’t regret adding a new one to your collection. Here are a few of my favorites.
Lapel-less Blazer
The perfect polished spring jacket is actually a blazer. I find them to be the perfect weight for spring days and nights. The most directional style of the season is a modern lapel-less blazer.
