History was made at this year’s Paris Fashion Week when 10-year-old Max Alexander debuted his new collection of Fall/Winter women’s ready to wear clothing, making him the youngest designer to walk the runway at PFW.
According to his official website, Alexander found his passion at an early age. Attending an arts school in Los Angeles and having an artist as a mother, his creativity was ignited after being inspired by works of art from Frida Kahlo, Vincent Van Gogh and others.
By 2020, he found his calling and declared himself a dressmaker, launching his branding the following year known as “Couture to the Max.” He has gained a lot of recognition as a young designer to the point that he is renowned by celebrities and internationally earning for his work of art. Some even consider him to have been Guccio Gucci in a past life, which is a highly honored comparison.
According to People magazine, Alexander enjoys using 90% sustainable materials, including biodegradable fabrics, recyclable bags and surplus. He showcased a vintage sari and a French military parachute in his even more impressive debut in New York Fashion Week in 2024, when he was 8 years old.
Both People and his own website point out how Alexander’s mom, Sherri Madison, is very supportive and an artist herself. People also expand by saying that the boy comes from a whole line of sewists, from his grandparents to his mother. Madison claimed that while she does occasionally help put the pieces together, the entirety of the design work is credited to Alexander.
Alexander, despite his young age, has the artistic brilliance of the many luxury designers that are internationally looked up to while being climatically ethical. He also adds cultural inspirations to his work.
Alexander has already accomplished astonishing feats in his childhood years and is a well-rounded person.
The fashion world is waiting to see what other extraordinary levels the next Gucci will reach.
