CARTERVILLE, Ill. — Educators from across the region are invited to attend the 2026 Annual Science in the South Conference on Friday, March 6, at John A. Logan College in Carterville.
This year’s theme, “Educating in the Future,” will highlight advances in science and innovative teaching strategies designed to help students build a quality future. Organizers say the conference is focused on supporting K-12 educators through strengthened content knowledge, professional growth, and enhanced student learning.
The event is designed for teachers at every stage of their careers — from first-year educators seeking fresh classroom ideas to veteran teachers looking to re-energize their instruction. Attendees will have opportunities to connect with fellow educators, explore new ways to share science information, and earn professional development credit.
Participants can earn up to 5.0 Professional Development Hours (PDHs) for attending and participating in conference sessions.
