The Concours musical international de Montréal (Montreal International Music Competition or CMIM) has announced 24 competitors, aged 16 to 30, from 18 countries who will participate in the 2026 edition for violin.

The 2026 violin participants will include:
- Seoyeon Baik, 18 of South Korea
- Thomas Briant, 24 of France
- Bade Dastan, 18 of Belgium/Turkey
- Laurel Gagnon, 30 of the U.S.
- Michael Germer, 23 of Denmark
- Yuki Hirano, 21 of Japan
- Sara Isabelle Ispas, 22 of Australia/Romania
- Amia Janicki, 28 of Austria/Switzerland
- Lorenz Karls, 24 of Sweden
- Sijun Kim. 23 of South Korea
- Hyun Jae Lim, 27 of South Korea
- Chiara Sannicandro, 28 of Germany/Italy
- Tsukushi Sasaki, 25 of Japan
- Justin Saulnier, 20 of Canada
- Paloma So, 20 of Canada/Hong Kong
- Charlotte Spruit, 25 of The Netherlands
- Koshiro Takeuchi, 20 of Japan
- Hannah Tam, 20 of Hong Kong
- Belle Ting, 25 of Canada
- Sara Watanabe, 20 of Japan
- Dayoon You, 24 of South Korea
- Yume Zamponi, 20 of Italy/Japan
- Aozhe Zhang, 17 of China
- Shaoheng Zhong, 16 of China
The participants were chosen from more than 250 applicants, according to the CMIM.
The Montreal competition will take place from May 27 to June 4 at Bourgie Hall and the Maison symphonique, with violinists competing for prizes and scholarships worth more than $150,000. Finalists will perform with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM) and conductor Sascha Goetzel on June 4 at the Maison symphonique in Montreal.
The jury for the 2026 competition includes Chair Lucie Robert as well as Ju-Young Baek, Glenn Dicterow, Simin Ganatra, Yuzuko Horigome, Régis Pasquier, Barry Shiffman, and Pavel Vernikov.
Held annually since its founding in 2002, the CMIM alternates each year between editions for violin, piano and voice.
