We are officially in the shadow of the 98th Academy Awards, which took place at the Los Angeles Dolby Theatre this past Sunday, March 15. On a hotly contested evening, it was Paul Thomas Anderson and his politically poignant masterpiece, One Battle After Another, that came out most victorious with six wins. Ryan Coogler’s beloved vampire flick Sinners, which broke the record for most nominations ever, also proved successful, with star Michael B. Jordan taking home the Best Actor prize. So, as a new spiritual year of movie-watching begins, how should you start? To help you decide, here’s a list of three movies you should stream this week on Netflix.

1
‘BlackBerry’ (2023)
Rotten Tomatoes: 87% | IMDb: 7.3/10
One of the big winners from the 98th Academy Awards was the global smash KPop Demon Hunters, and, with that in mind, you should definitely check out star SungWon Cho‘s (who plays Saja Boy Abby) debut, BlackBerry. The 2023 docudrama follows the seemingly unstoppable rise of the world’s first smartphone, the titular BlackBerry, and just how hard a fall from grace from improbable heights can be.
Sporting a near-perfect 97% score from critics on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, BlackBerry is a superb docudrama that was entirely snubbed from the 2024 Academy Awards. Perhaps the most egregious aspect of the film to miss out on a chance at Oscars gold was Glenn Howerton’s supporting performance, who joins an impressive ensemble in a film that feels as educational as it is entertaining.
2
‘Nobody 2’ (2025)
Rotten Tomatoes: 76% | IMDb: 6.3/10
Now that the most high-profile movies of the past year have taken home their Golden Statues, why not catch one of 2025’s more underrated films? A new arrival in the Netflix catalog, Breaking Bad favorite Bob Odenkirk reprises his role as suburban dad and former assassin Hutch in Nobody 2, as a violent home invasion sends him spiraling back into his past and the clutches of danger.
After facing a frustrating theatrical run and eventual box office disappointment, Nobody 2 will be happy to find success on the Netflix charts. Already topping the streamer after its first weekend, this underrated gem is finally getting the recognition it deserves as a kick-ass sequel starring the ever-watchable Odenkirk and a stellar supporting cast.
3
‘Nuremberg’ (2025)
Rotten Tomatoes: 71% | IMDb: 7.4/10
By the time the nominations for the most recent Academy Awards were announced, there was little hope that the WWII courtroom drama Nuremberg would be included. However, it wasn’t long before nominations day that whispers of some potential Oscar success for the film circulated in cinephile discourse, especially for Russell Crowe‘s underappreciated lead performance.
Also starring Rami Malek and Michael Shannon, Nuremberg follows a psychiatrist who evaluates Nazi leaders before the titular trials, only for his work to become increasingly obsessive as he seeks to understand evil and its many forms. An edge-of-your-seat tale that is as gripping as it is intricate in its historical detail, don’t miss out on Nuremberg this week.
