Weekends are practically made for streaming Netflix movies. And to ensure you’ve got plenty of worthwhile options to add to your watchlist, I’ve combed through the most recent additions to the world’s biggest streaming service and picked out some personal highlights.
These include the long-awaited arrival of the “Peaky Blinders” movie. I might not be a dedicated fan of this popular BBC crime drama, but even I can’t overlook the return of Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby. My other picks include a horror legacy sequel done extremely well, and a charming animated heist comedy sequel that is perfect for a family movie night.

‘Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man’ (2026)
By order of the Peaky Blinders, you need to watch this new feature-length continuation of the hit historical crime drama TV show. I’m hoping I got that reference right, because, cards on the table, I have never watched an episode of the BBC series. However, I’ve heard very good things from fans who caught this movie during its theatrical run, and now that it’s available to stream at home, I’m expecting it to quickly climb Netflix’s top 10 most-watched charts.
“The Immortal Man” in question is one Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy), who returns from self-imposed exile to face what is being described as “his most destructive reckoning yet.” With the future of his family at stake, Shelby is drawn back into a tangled web of organized crime and must confront his legacy, or burn everything to the ground. Alongside the returning Murphy, newcomers Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth and Barry Keoghan join the cast.

‘Saw X’ (2023
How often does a franchise hit its peak at its 10th installment? Not very often, and yet “Saw X” might just be the best chapter of this (in)famous horror-thriller series. Set between the first two “Saw” movies, it sees the return of Tobin Bell as John “Jigsaw” Kramer, and boasts some of the series most brutal and skin-crawling death traps. But best of all, it adds some humanity to a series which, particularly in its later installments, reveled in intense cruelty.
After being told he has only months to live due to terminal brain cancer, John Kramer (Bell) is given a lifeline when he learns of an experimental medical procedure that could save his life. Cruelly, it turns out to be a scam, purposefully designed to defraud vulnerable patients. If there’s one man you don’t want to con, it’s John Kramer, and so he creates a new series of sadistic traps to turn the tables on the fraudsters and get his well-deserved revenge.

‘The Bad Guys 2’ (2025)
If a historical crime drama and a very gory horror isn’t quite what you look for in a weekend watch, “The Bad Guys 2” is the perfect lighter pick, that offers a little something for the whole family. This sequel follows up on the 2022 original and reunites the central quintet of anthropomorphic animals, Mr. Wolf, Mr. Snake, Mr. Piranha, Mr. Shark and Ms. Tarantula. And this time, the stakes are even higher as The Bad Guys must team with The Bad Girls!
The flick packs plenty of voice-acting talent, including Sam Rockwell, Awkwafina, Craig Robinson, Anthony Ramos, Danielle Brooks, Natasha Lyonne and more. It’s also filled with loads of heist hijinks and all-ages humor. Over on Rotten Tomatoes, “The Bad Guys 2” has scored a very strong 87% with critics, and its viewers’ rating is even higher at a whooping 91%. The original “The Bad Guys” is also on Netflix, if you need to get caught up from the start.
