Like all the best streaming services, Prime Video is regularly bringing subscribers new shows and movies to stream every week, and while that means there’s more to choose from all the time, that isn’t always a good thing.
I’m sure I’m not the only viewer who often finds they’re spending their spare time scrolling endlessly through genres and categories, right?

‘Mercy’ (2026)
Okay, yes, I know “Mercy” wasn’t exactly warmly received at the start of 2026, but as it’s dropping on Prime Video this weekend, I feel like this near-future sci-fi thriller is worth mentioning here nonetheless. It might be worth investigating just to see whether it’s as bad as some people have said…
“Mercy” takes us forward to 2029, wherein AI judges have been implemented to tackle surges in crime. It’s here we meet LAPD detective, Chris Raven (Chris Pratt), a strong defender of the AI-based system, though he’s about to find himself experiencing this very system first-hand. Chris is accused of murdering his wife, and finds himself strapped to a chair and given just 90 minutes to convince the judge presiding over his case, Maddox (played by Rebecca Ferguson), that he’s innocent, or he’ll be executed.

‘Roofman’ (2025)
“Roofman” is definitely my top choice for the weekend if you’re scrolling through your Prime Video streaming options. Derek Cianfrance’s underrated 2025 crime comedy/drama is a thoroughly entertaining caper that’s based on an unbelievable, stranger-than-fiction story, and it’s been Prime Video’s top watch since it arrived on Monday, March 16.
The film is based on the true story of Jeffrey Manchester, a struggling father and army veteran who turned to robbing McDonald’s restaurants (via holes he cut in the restaurants’ roofs, which is why the media dubbed him the “roofman”) to support his family. Manchester’s crimes eventually landed him behind bars, but after successfully breaking out of prison, the charming fugitive hides out in a Toys “R” Us store for several months while he plans his next move, though when he falls for Leigh (Kirsten Dunst), his life soon starts to unravel.

‘Agent Zeta’ (2026)
“Agent Zeta” is a brand-new Spanish Prime Video original that sounds like it should suffice if you’re looking for action this weekend; the streamer promises “action, secrets, and twists you won’t see coming.”
In the movie, several former Spanish agents are murdered in different embassies around the world simultaneously, and it comes to light that they were all involved in a covert Colombian operation decades ago: “Operación Ciénaga.” Another agent was involved, but evaded the assassins, and it falls to Agent Zeta (Mario Casas) to find him. Zeta joins forces with a Colombian agent to find him, and as the pair investigates, they dodge danger and stumble upon secrets that have been silenced for years.
