Key members of developer Rebel Wolves have reconfirmed in a Launch Year Special video that the company’s debut project, The Blood of Dawnwalker, will launch in 2026. An exact release date hasn’t been confirmed yet, but at least we know that it’ll be dropping this year.
Dominika Burza, Global Community Lead for Rebel Wolves, was joined by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz (founder of Rebel Wolves and director on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt) to discuss the year ahead, and confirmed that The Blood of Dawnwalker will indeed arrive in 2026.
Yes. Looking forward, The Blood of Dawnwalker launches this year. We won’t reveal the release date today, but you can expect to start hearing from us more and more.
“We still have so much content to show you. Gameplay features, locations, characters,” noted Tomaszkiewicz.
Meanwhile, the team also debuted the official music theme for The Blood of Dawnwalker, with main composer Nikola Kołodziejczyk commenting:
The theme leans heavily on sounds and instruments associated with the place and time of the game – the 14th century, at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains. We wanted to pay homage to that era and its people, and stay as true to historical authenticity as possible.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is currently in development for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, and takes place in the 14th century, specifically a fictional kingdom known as Vale Sangora. The location plucks influence from Eastern European folklore, and sees players controlling Coen, who has been hit with a vampiric curse while attempting to save his family within 30 days.
Back in February last year, Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz revealed that The Blood of Dawnwalker will allow players to kill off even important NPCs in the game.
