Memorial Health System (MHS) is pleased to announce that Tori Bowers has accepted the position of Chief Financial Officer.
Bowers has been with MHS since 2020 serving as controller, and has played a key role in strengthening the organization’s financial operations.
In her previous role, she oversaw monthly financial reporting, budgeting, revenue cycle oversight, accounts payable and payroll at MHS. She also brings valuable experience in finance through previous roles with Koch Industries, Sunflower Bank and Steel and Pipe Supply Company.
“Tori brings a strong background in health care finance and accounting, along with a proven track record of leadership, process improvement and operational excellence,” said Kimberly Haverly, MHS administrator.
“We are confident she will continue to strengthen our organization and guide our financial strategy in this new role.”
Bowers replaces Elgin Glanzer who retired in December. Glanzer expressed pride in passing the torch to Bowers after his 31 years of service to MHS.
“Financing health care seems to be getting harder every year with new challenges and changes,” Glanzer said.
“Tori is a great fit for the CFO responsibilities at MHS. She learned health care finance by preparing the monthly financial statements for MHS the past five years. She loves change and is a leader in making changes that are needed. But even more important, she sees her role as taking care of people in Abilene and the surrounding communities, even if she doesn’t come in contact with patients regularly,” Glanzer continued.

“I am excited to be in a role where I can participate in higher-level conversations that shape decisions for our hospital,” Bowers said.
“This position allows me to work closely with departments beyond accounting, supporting teams so they have the resources needed to deliver high-quality patient care.”
Bowers’ top priorities as CFO include maintaining a strong balance sheet, maximizing cash on hand, evaluating commercial reimbursement and the 340B drug program and analyzing potential new services to meet community needs.
A lifelong Abilene resident, Bowers earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Newman University and an associate’s degree from Highland Community College. She describes herself as organized, competitive and a lover of small-town, country living who is devoted to her family and her hometown community.
“Growing up here, and now raising a child in this community, it’s meaningful to serve Dickinson County in this capacity,” Bowers said.
