Kate Hudson wore a scarlet Stella McCartney Spring 2026 mini dress to the 2026 Critics’ Choice Awards, while Kylie Jenner’s restored vintage Versace moment offered the night’s clearest reuse story.
Talk about commitment to a color story. At the 2026 Critics’ Choice Awards in Santa Monica, Kate Hudson arrived on the red carpet in a scarlet Stella McCartney Spring 2026 mini dress with a dramatic train, doubling down on red just days after wearing the shade to the Palm Springs International Film Awards.
The dress itself did the work. Cut short in the front with a sweetheart neckline and pleated construction, the silhouette leaned playful, while the extended train brought a formal counterbalance. It was a look designed to read clearly from every angle — on the carpet, under stage lights, and in broadcast close-ups — as Hudson appeared at the ceremony as a guest presenter. The proportions were sharp, the color unapologetic, and the styling stayed focused.
Christian Louboutin Miss Z patent leather pumps and Chopard jewelry finished the look. The accessories kept things polished but clean, allowing the dress’s saturated hue and construction to remain the focal point. Styling was handled by Sophie Lopez.
Around her, the carpet leaned classic, but not sleepy as seen in everything from Chase Infiniti’s butter-yellow Louis Vuitton two-piece with a cape to Ariana Grande’s custom Alberta Ferretti gown with a tulle overlay.
Elsewhere on the red carpet, several attendees incorporated archival fashion into their looks, a trend increasingly becoming commonplace among Hollywood’s A-listers. Multiple stars opted for vintage designs, including Kylie Jenner in a Versace gown from the Fall/Winter 1996 collection and Elle Fanning in an archival Ralph Lauren.
Jenner’s look came via the iconic Los Angeles vintage shop, Tab Vintage.
“We acquired it from someone who didn’t know how to fix it. The chainmail was wrecked and the lace had been torn in a few places,” Tab Vintage founder Alexis Novak shared with Vogue. “We called on the amazing tailor Rae Moore to help us carefully restore the lace (by hand) and Anne Wold to relink the tiny chainmail tears. It turned out incredible. We love working with [Jenner’s] entire team!”
