While those Directive 8020 achievements are still hidden away, we do finally have a release date for Supermassive’s next Xbox horror game. Directive 8020 launches on Xbox Series X|S on May 12, 2026, taking players to the alien world of Tau Ceti f for a cinematic sci-fi horror adventure.
With the Earth slowly dying and humanity on the brink of destruction, it falls to the colony ship Cassiopeia to travel 12 light-years from home to the unexplored planet of Tau Ceti f in search of a saving grace. After the ship crash-lands on the planet, the research mission soon turns into a battle for survival as the crew becomes the target of an alien organism capable of mimicking its prey.
In true Supermassive Games fashion, you’ll be in charge of how the story plays out as you attempt to outwit your alien adversary. Using improvised weapons, reflexes, stealth, and deduction skills, you’ll need to navigate the horrific planet if you hope to get your crew home alive.
In this new game from The Quarry and The Dark Pictures Anthology developer, you’ll have an awesome new feature to play around with, too, called Turning Points. It’s sure to help you unlock all of the achievements without too much hassle, as Turning Points gives you the tools to revisit key decisions to explore alternate story beats.

Supermassive’s previous games tasked you with seeing multiple endings, and while we’re yet to see Directive 8020’s list, we’ll likely see similar achievements in the team’s next game, making Turning Points a helpful feature for mopping up the list.
When Directive 8020 launches in May, it’ll arrive with single-player and five-player couch co-op modes, while a free post-launch update will add online multiplayer support so you can play with your pals. This entry in Supermassive’s choice-based horror game library looks like it could be a contender for our list of the best Xbox games. What do you think? Will you be jumping in for some fun when it arrives later this year? Drop a comment below and let us know!
