Greece, N.Y. — The Greece Police Department released an overview of crime statistics Tuesday that indicated crime in the town had plummeted in the last four years.
The department said the drop signifies “a return to long-term historic norms”, as it reported no homicides in 2025 and vehicle thefts on the wane.
Police said vehicle thefts had surged in previous years, but the department had curbed numbers by implementing a license plate reader system.

The report concluded by saying Greece police will continue to focus on curtailing property crime and retail theft, as well as bonding with the community.
