The RTX 5060 is one of the best graphics cards you can buy if you’re looking to stick to a prebuild budget of around $1,000 and want something primarily for FHD gaming. While other cards may be more affordable for 1080p gaming, the RTX 5060 has the edge as it boasts some of the latest-gen technology and features. You’ve got the latest 4th-gen ray tracing cores, 5th-gen tensor cores, and fast GDDR7 memory, all of which make for a significant generational performance boost across the board. You’ve also got MFG, which is crucial if you’re looking to use this card for 1440p gaming, and even Nvidia 9th-gen Encoders to help optimize a wide variety of creative workflows.
Ryzen 5 5500 processor
This is a super budget-friendly processor that’s designed mainly with gaming in mind; its 6 cores and 12 threads do make it relatively good for multitasking and content creation, too. In terms of gaming performance, it’s not going to be the absolute best CPU for gaming, but its 16MB L3 cache and 4.2GHz boost clock are decent for 1080p, which is what this graphics card targets. This CPU is one factor in making this PC more affordable than your standard RTX 5060 models, so it’s a win from a price perspective, even if there are more powerful alternatives.
Storage and RAM
You’ve got 16GB of DDR4 RAM in this build, which is decent, but not mindblowing. Again, for FHD gaming, multitasking, and running some more demanding creative editing applications, it’ll more than do the job. Its 1TB SSD is pretty standard, but it’s great if you’re playing a few titles on rotation, and don’t have the burning desire to build a huge gaming library.
Things to consider
So most RTX 5060 prebuilds come in anywhere between $900 to around $1300 in most cases, so if you’re looking for features like DDR5 RAM, more powerful, higher core count Ryzen and Intel processors, and (on rare occasions) larger SSDs, it’s worth looking around the $1,100 mark as a starting point in my opinion.
