For the film’s world premiere, Robbie wore a custom Schiaparelli Couture gown designed by Daniel Roseberry. The star of her outfit, however, was Elizabeth Taylor’s Taj Mahal necklace, created by Cartier, and gifted to Taylor by Richard Burton on her 40th birthday in 1972.
“We were thrilled when Andrew got in touch, and we offered him the Taj Mahal Diamond for Margot Robbie to wear to the world premiere of Wuthering Heights,” Tim Mendelson, a Trustee of the Elizabeth Taylor Estate, told Marion Faisel of Only Natural Diamonds. “Elizabeth cherished the symbolism of jewelry, and no other piece in her legendary collection is more connected to epic, undeniable, and tempestuous love that transcends time and even death than the Taj Mahal Diamond.”
She also accessorized with custom Lorraine Schwartz earrings, and a Fred Leighton ruby and diamond ring.
