🇬🇷 Greece: More Than 1 Million Viewers for Sing For Greece Semi Final One


The Greek broadcaster ERT has registered more than one million viewers for the first semifinal of Sing for Greece.

At least 1,630,000 viewers tuned in yesterday evening for a minimum of one minute to watch Semi Final One of Sing for Greece, the country’s selection method to choose a representative for Eurovision 2026.

The competition was broadcast live on ERT1, with the channel ranking first among the key demographic (18–54) with a 15.3% share, while among younger audiences (18–34) viewership reached 19% among men and 24% among women. Viewership on ERTFLIX was also high, with 57% of views coming from mobile phones.

On X (formerly Twitter), the top two positions locally were occupied by the hashtags #SingForGreece and #eurovisiongr, confirming the popularity of the show among the Greek audience.

Sing for Greece 2026

Sing for Greece 2026 will determine the act that will represent Greece at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Austria. It will consist of two semifinals and a final, with a total of 28 acts participating. Across the two semi-finals, seven entries will qualify for the final. Semi Final Two will take place on Friday 13, with the next fourteen competing entries vying to qualify for the final on February 15. There will also be guest performances from Cyprus’ Eurovision entry, Antigoni, who will perform her entry “JALLA” live for the first time, as well as Tamta, who represented Cyprus in 2019. The seven artists that will qualify from Semi Final Two will join the current line-up:

  • Alexandra Sieti – “The other side”
  • Akylas – “Ferto” (Bring it)
  • Evangelia – “Parea” (Friends)
  • Marseaux – “Hanomai” (I’m lost)
  • Rosanna Mailan – “Alma” (Soul)
  • Stefi – “Europa”
  • Stylianos – “You & I”

Klavdia represented Greece at Eurovision 2025 with “Asteromata”. She secured Greece’s best result in the Eurovision Song Contest since 2013, by placing 6th in the final, scoring 231 points. Greece was 8th with the public and juries and received 12 points from the juries of Australia, Cyprus, Israel and Montenegro, and 12 points from the televoters of Albania, Cyprus and San Marino.

Greece debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974, when they were represented by Marinella and the song “Krasi, thalassa kai t’agori mou”, which finished in 11th place with 7 points. Three years later, Greece earned their first top 5 finish with Paschalis, Marianna, Robert, and Bessy, who finished in 5th place with “Mathima solfege”. In 2001, Greece achieved their first top 3 placing with Antique and the song “I Would Die For You”. The song became a European hit and charted across the continent. In 2005, Helena Paparizou returned to the Eurovision stage as a solo artist and brought Greece their first, and to date only, victory. Her song “My Number One” won with 230 points, beating runners-up Malta by 38 points.
