Gabe Gordon is a Brooklyn-based fashion label with handmade knitwear that’s so in demand, even VIP fans like model Alex Consani and singer Ethel Cain can only get one precious piece at a time. But at the CFDA nominee’s New York Fashion Week show yesterday, there was one standout piece that everyone can buy right this second: old-school Ugg boots.
The fuzzy clompers come as Y2K nostalgia hits peak TikTok frenzy, and labels like 7 for All Mankind and Sandy Liang reference the early 2000s on their catwalks. (Even at the die-for-your-art label Zoe Gustavia Anna Whalen, the soundtrack included a remix of Hilary Duff’s Laguna Beach theme song, “Coming Clean.”) Co-designers and husband duo Gabe Gordon and Timothy Gibbons nodded to the same 2003 trend cycle by featuring Ugg’s Classic Short II style, which gained icon status via Jennifer Lopez and Kirsten Dunst, along with the entire cast of The O.C. Gabe Gordon also trotted out the Classic Mini, a shrunken version of the slouchy boot worn by Kendall Jenner, Emily Ratajkowski, and other women who can use the term “follower count” without sounding like a cult leader. (Although honestly? We’d join.)
The brand paired the Uggs with outfits inspired by 1980s staples—the soft gray sweats of a Breakfast Club athlete, the toothpaste-white stilettos of a Troop Beverly Hills mom—interspersed with a series of ice skating looks, complete with stiff satin tutus and permed Tonya Harding ponytails.

It was a fun contrast to Ugg’s original purpose—helping surfers avoid an after-swim chill in Australia—but also made perfect sense. Whether it’s surfing, skating, or building your 2026 capsule wardrobe for maximum moments of “yes,” there’s always a hunger for looking cool while staying very, very warm.
