ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Eastman School of Music’s Kilbourn Hall hosted the 49th annual William Warfield Scholarship Fund benefit concert this afternoon. The event, themed “Let Freedom Dream,” showcased performances by current Eastman student Darrin John Nicholson II and others.

The concert also included the presentation of the 2026 William Warfield Legacy Award to Wayne Sanders, co-founder and pianist of Opera Ebony.
Deanna Dewberry of News10NBC returned as the emcee for the event.
