Lauren Smart has been appointed global head of sustainable finance at Bloomberg. Smart joins Bloomberg from S&P Global where she headed its sustainability business, a position she took up in January last year. Smart was part of the board team that sold Trucost to S&P Dow Jones Indices in 2016 and was a core member of the leadership team that established Sustainable1 in 2020. A spokesperson for S&P Global told Responsible Investor that Thomas Yagel is now leading all sustainability work.
Gayle Muers has joined Partners Capital as its head of sustainable investing. Previously Muers was at HSBC for nearly 10 years until March 2025 – she most recently served as global head of ESG solutions within the investment banking division.
Holly Turner has been appointed head of sustainable investments at Schroders Capital. Turner has been with the private markets subsidiary of Schroders since 2022, most recently as sustainable investment lead and climate specialist.
Lindsey Walton has been made director of global markets at the Principles for Responsible Investment. Walton has been with the investor network since 2020 – since May 2022 she had been director of Americas.
Michele Prisco has been promoted to ESG specialist & engagement lead at Alecta. Prisco has been with the Swedish asset owner since 2022, and previously worked at ISS ESG.
Antoni Ballabriga, global head sustainability intelligence & advocacy at BBVA has been appointed chair of the financing transition expert group at the European Banking Federation.
Morningstar Sustainalytics has appointed Gregory Van Droogenbroeck as its new chief product officer. Based in New York, Van Droogenbroeck joins from Lazard Asset Management, where he served as director of sustainable investment, data and analytics.
Lazard Asset Management is recruiting for a head of quantitative sustainable investment research. As part of the role, the successful applicant will set and drive the quantitative ESG and climate transition research agenda to help develop solutions that meet clients’ financial and sustainability objectives.
Antoine Pellion, France’s former secretary general for ecological planning, has been appointed chairperson of La Banque Postale’s steering committee. Pellion is also deputy managing director in charge of development at Idex Group and chair of Comité 21, a network that brings together public and private players committed to the ecological transition.
Staying with La Banque Postale, its asset management arm has hired Emilie Goirand as head of corporate private debt and unlisted solutions ESG. Goirand joins the firm from MV Credit where she was sustainability officer.
Sarah Gordon has been appointed as head of impact investing and philanthropy at the UK government unit, Office for Investment. Gordon was previously the CEO of the Impact Investing Institute from 2019 to 2023.
Sally Kramers has been made COO of UKSIF. Kramers joined the network in 2021. Alongside her new position, Kramers will continue as head of industry development.
