Humana purchased Florida-based MaxHealth from private equity firm Arsenal Capital Partners for an undisclosed sum.
Humana’s CenterWell has added another network of senior primary care centers in Florida.
Humana purchased MaxHealth from private equity firm Arsenal Capital Partners for an undisclosed sum.
This adds 82 clinics that provide primary care to more than 120,000 patients in the western and southern parts of Florida.
The Tampa-based MaxHealth operates 54 primary care clinics, four specialty/ancillary clinics, and 24 affiliate clinics. Its customer base includes over 80,000 patients in value-based care programs.
During Humana’s earnings call on Wednesday, February 11, President and CEO Jim Rechtin said he hoped to soon announce an acquisition in the primary care space.
MaxHealth has a presence near and within The Villages. Humana acquired The Villages Health in July 2025.
MaxHealth will now be affiliated with and owned by CenterWell Senior Primary Care.
CenterWell is Humana’s healthcare services unit. CenterWell Senior Primary Care is the nation’s largest senior-focused, value-based primary care provider, according to Humana.
The acquisition will expand the reach of CenterWell Senior Primary Care to new key markets, Humana said.
Arsenal Capital Partners is a New York-based private equity firm and MaxHealth’s founder-shareholders.
