The Big Apple’s first lady Rama Duwaji was spotted yukking it up in the front row at New York Fashion Week over the weekend.
Duwaji, the aloof wife of socialist Mayor Zohram Mamdani, briefly posed for the paparazzi as she made an appearance at New York label Diotima’s show on Sunday.
The 28-year-old artist flashed a brief smile as she soaked up the runway from the first row.

She donned a cream and brown checked coat on top of a tan-colored trench for the occasion.
Duwaji paired her fit with knee-high boots as she rubbed shoulders with Puerto Rican model Joan Smalls, Vogue stylist Gabriella Karefa-Johnson and former Jamaican track and field sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce.
The label she opted to support is headed by queer Jamaican designer, Rachel Scott.
The Gen Z-er, who became the city’s youngest ever first lady with her husband’s election victory, largely steers clear of the political limelight and was noticeably absent from much of the election campaign.
Her decision to show face at NYFW is one of the few times she’s been snapped at a public event since Hizzoner took his oath.

Duwaji, whose Instagram following has skyrocketed to 2 million in recent months, griped about her newfound fame in an interview with The Cut late last year.
Insisting she wouldn’t give up her day job after taking on official duties, Duwaji acknowledged she’s been forced to accept that she is no longer just a private citizen.
“At the end of the day, I’m not a politician. I’m here to be a support system for Z and to use the role in the best way that I can as an artist,” she said in the wide-ranging interview.
“There are so many artists trying to make it in the city — so many talented, undiscovered artists making the work with no instant validation, using their last paycheck on material,” she added. “I think using this position to highlight them and give them a platform is a top priority.”
