Detroit Pistons star earns NBA weekly honor for an outstanding week


NEW YORK, NY –

Detroit Pistons guard and former Oklahoma State standout, Cade Cunningham, was named the NBA’s Eastern Conference Player of the Week on Monday. It’s the second time in his career he’s taken home the honor, with the first occurring on December 23rd, 2024. Cunningham averaged 31 points, 9.8 assists, 3.3 rebounds in a 4-0 week for the Pistons.

Cunningham scored a season-high 31 points in Detroit’s 125-107 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Friday. He also chipped in 10 assists in the victory. Two days later, he recorded a double-double, scoring 26 points and dishing out 11 assists in the 111-108 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Pistons are currently in first place in the Eastern Conference with an 8-2 record. It’s the team’s best start in 20 years.
