Bodø / Glimt vs Inter Milan: UEFA Champions League stats & head-to-head

  • The only previous meetings Bodø/Glimt and Internazionale came in the 1978-79 Cup Winners’ Cup, with the Italian side winning both legs for a 7-1 aggregate victory (5-0 at home, 2-1 away).

  • This will be just the second UEFA Champions League knockout stage tie played between sides from Norway (Bodø/Glimt) and Italy (Internazionale), after Juventus’ elimination of Rosenborg in the quarter-finals of the 1996-97 edition (3-1 on aggregate).

  • Internazionale will play a European match in Norway for just the third time, and for the first time since a 2-2 draw at Rosenborg in September 2002 (the other being a 2-1 win at Bodø/Glimt in October 1978).

  • Bodø/Glimt won their final two games in the league phase (3-1 v Manchester City, 2-1 v Atlético Madrid), and could become the first Norwegian team to win three consecutive European Cup/UEFA Champions League matches.

  • Two of Internazionale’s last three defeats in the knockout stages in the UEFA Champions League have been in the final, losing to Paris SG in 2024-25 (0-5) and Manchester City in 2022-23 (0-1). Excluding finals, they have only lost one of their last 15 knockout stage matches in the competition (W10 D4): 1-2 away to Atlético Madrid in March 2024.

  • Between MD1 and MD4 in the UEFA Champions League this season, Bodø/Glimt had the fourth-worst negative differential against expected goals (-3.1 – 5 goals from 8.1 xG). However, between MD5 and MD8, they had the fourth-best positive differential (+2.4 – 9 scored from 6.6 xG).

  • 41.1% of Internazionale’s attacks in the UEFA Champions League this season have been down their left side; the highest percentage by any team in the league phase. Indeed, their top chance creator in the competition this term is left wing back Federico Dimarco (11).

  • Bodø/Glimt’s Jens Petter Hauge was the only player to create 20+ chances and complete 20+ dribbles in the league phase of this season’s UEFA Champions League (20 chances created, 26 dribbles completed). The Norwegian also leads all players in this edition for chances created following a carry (14).

  • Lautaro Martínez has scored 25 goals for Internazionale in the UEFA Champions League. Only three players have ever netted more for an Italian club in the competition: Alessandro Del Piero for Juventus (42), Filippo Inzaghi and Andriy Shevchenko (both 29 for Milan).

  • Three different Bodø/Glimt outfielders have played every minute in the UEFA Champions League this season (Odin Bjørtuft, Patrick Berg and Fredrik Sjøvold); the most on one team in this edition.
