Following their 21st-placed finish in the League Phase, Martin O’Neill’s side were drawn against Sebastian Hoeness’ club, who are currently fourth in the Bundesliga at the time of writing.
The historic German side finished 11th in the League Phase, which secured Hoeness’ side a seeded place in the play-offs.
The first leg of the play-offs takes place this Thursday, with the return leg occurring a week later in Germany.
Ahead of the game at Celtic Park, the match officials have been confirmed, with Belgium’s Erik Lambrechts being appointed as the on-field referee.
He will be joined by fellow countrymen Mathias Hillaert and Kevin Monteny as his assistants on their respective touchlines, while Jasper Vergoote, also of Belgium, will act as fourth official.
Away from the action at Celtic Park, Lambrechts will be helped by Bram Van Driessche on VAR duties, while the Netherlands’ Pol van Boekel will provide assistance to the latter with regard to the technology.
Though this will be the first game involving Celtic that Lambrechts will officiate, he did oversee Rangers’ Europa League match versus Manchester United last season, a game which the Old Trafford side won 2-1.
