Stolen vehicle slams into pair of Greece police cars during pursuit

Greece, N.Y. — Police are searching for two suspects from a stolen vehicle pursuit early Thursday morning that started in Greece and ended in Rochester.

Greece police responded around 12:50 a.m. to Briarcliff Road, where a 911 caller spotted two males stealing his Hyundai. Officers used license plate reading technology to find the car in the area of Dewey Avenue, police said. The vehicle fled an attempted traffic stop, starting a pursuit that continued into several parts of Rochester.

The stolen car briefly stopped in the area of Hudson Avenue and Kelly Street, and when officers tried to take them into custody, the driver backed the stolen vehicle into a marked patrol car before ramming into another patrol vehicle, according to police. The vehicle continued northbound on Hudson Avenue and drove into the west side of the city. It was last seen traveling through an open field near the 300 block of LaGrange Avenue before it was found unoccupied later in the morning.
