I must be speaking for everyone when I say I’m still not over the scarf jacket/jumper/blouse trend that skyrocketed in popularity last year. Since its introduction – courtesy of Scandi designer brand Toteme – the chic silhouette has dominated the fashion conversation. Most recently, Next has designed a rather striking scarf-jumper in one of the boldest colours of the season: red.
The Scarf Layer Lace Trim Knitted Jumper is a unique style comprised of a classic crew-neck knit and a matching scarf. Complete with embroidered lace detailing in contrasting white, the scarf adds a flattering, feminine touch to an otherwise classic staple, making it a joyful key piece to add to your spring wardrobe.
Incredibly versatile, the scarf is detachable, making it easy to style for a range of occasions. Wear it as intended with the red crew-neck jumper, paired with grey wide-leg jeans and minimalist sneakers for a charming yet casual outfit formula.
Alternatively, remove the scarf and style it as an accessory over other knit staples in muted tones such as grey and beige (read: biscuit), allowing its eye catching hue to take centre stage.
Of course, if red isn’t your favourite shade, the high-street hero also comes in a navy blue version featuring a striped scarf for a subtle nautical touch. Pair it with muted outerwear and classic black trousers for a polished finish, and don’t forget pointed-toe boots for added elevation.
