The Boston Celtics have had to play this entire season without Jayson Tatum. Yet, they have been able to ascend to the top of the Eastern Conference standings. Boston currently sits at second in the East, even without Tatum.

Jaylen Brown has led Boston all season. He has led them to having the second-best offense in the NBA. Tatum is one of the best players in the NBA when he is fully healthy. His ability to score the ball and play hard perimeter defense is very valuable to the Celtics.

It’s still unclear if Tatum is going to return to the team this year. However, Tatum is still working hard to get back to the court. His latest social media post might get the hopes up of some fans that he will be back soon.

Jayson Tatum’s Social Media Post Excites Celtics Fans

Tatum’s latest social media post could give some Celtics fans hope that he will be returning this season.

40 weeks🙏🏽
I’ve really grown to appreciate this journey I’ve been on and allow time for me to pat myself on the back for showing up everyday!

Tatum doesn’t indicate one way or the other that he will be returning to the Celtics this season. He is still dealing with the effects of his torn Achilles. Usually, that takes an entire year to recover from. With how well Boston is playing this season, adding Tatum into the fold would be hard.

Brown has clearly shown that he is good enough to be the number-one option on the team. If Tatum were to return, Brown wouldn’t be comfortable giving that role up after everything he’s done this year. So far this season, Brown has the highest usage rate of his career.

Adding Tatum back to the roster would give the Celtics a better shot of contending for the title. Right now, the Thunder are still the favorites to win it all. Denver and San Antonio have a better shot of winning it all than the top East team, according to oddsmakers.

The Celtics Need to be Careful With Jayson Tatum

The last thing Boston wants to do is bring back Tatum before he is fully recovered from his injury. They don’t want this injury to affect him next year, as well. If they have to sit him for this season, it might not be a bad idea, especially with how effective the rest of the roster has been.

Tatum has been posting updates every step of the way in his recovery. He stated earlier this year that he wanted to return this season, but he hasn’t given a specific timetable on that. With that being the case, fans are still left wondering if he is going to suit up this year.

There is a growing theory Tatum could return in the first week of March. That is nothing more than conjecture at this point. Until an official announcement is made, Tatum is going to continue to work hard to get all of his explosiveness back.
