In its Veganism Around the World 2025 report, the organization analyzes global trends in plant-based lifestyles and hospitality, drawing on 2025 data from restaurant platform HappyCow.
Based on the findings, Greece offers 218.12 vegan dining options per million people, placing it tenth worldwide.

The ranking measures the density of fully vegan restaurants, vegetarian establishments and venues offering vegan options relative to population size. New Zealand leads globally with 344.81 options per million people, followed by Australia and the United Kingdom. Cyprus, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, Ireland and the Netherlands also feature in the top tier.
In absolute terms, Greece records 2,260 vegan dining listings – a notable figure for a country of its size and population. The strong per-capita performance highlights the growing availability of plant-based hospitality offerings, positioning Greece competitively within the global food and tourism landscape.

Interestingly, the density of vegan dining options contrasts with relatively moderate levels of vegan identification among the population. The report indicates that 2 percent of Greeks identify as vegan and 4 percent as vegetarian – figures comparable to Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Globally, the United States leads in total listings with 47,845 vegan dining options, followed by the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, Spain, Italy, Canada, France and the Netherlands.
