Such was the case in Etro’s spring/summer 2026 showcase. It was a lesson in bohemian maximalism with fringing aplenty – a mixture of colours, textures and even prints. From jackets to dresses, frayed hemlines gave fierce flowiness to staple silhouettes, while braided belts, complete with tassels, were tied at the waist and reached the knees. Tassels were also seen at Burberry – in one lime green look, they dangled from shirt cuffs, while bags and jackets were finished with long leather fringing.

“Inspired by both local and global traditions – from Middle Eastern ceremonial tassels to Mediterranean artisanal craft – they carry history and storytelling, reimagined for the contemporary woman who embraces drama and elegance,” shares Audisio. Each season, a version of Taller Marmo’s quintessential fringed kaftan is reinvented, and it has become a go-to for Ramadan and Eid. “By exploring scale, texture and placement, we transform classic kaftans into bold, elegant and wearable works of art – pieces that honour heritage while embracing innovation,” he adds.
