Memorable Moments From New York Fashion Week AW26

Despite the frigid weather, New York Fashion Week still had hundreds of runway shows this February. Full-length gowns, retro-inspired styles and minimal chic dominated the runways. Here are five designers who made a splash with their latest shows.

Christian Cowan

The show was called “Before the Door Opens,” and focuses on the intimacy of the bedroom and all of its attire; from corsets to lace trimmed lingerie. All in all, it is a vintage 1950s-inspirede collection that incorporates bullet bras, headwear by London-based milliner Harvy Santos, and bespoke handbags by BSWANKY. “I have always been fascinated by the moment before you step out the door,” said Christian Cowan. “There is something powerful about that private ritual, when you are alone with the mirror and deciding who you are about to be. This season, I wanted to expose that process and make it the spectacle itself.” ‘Heated Rivalry’ star Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova walked the runway for this collection and Julia Fox and Bebe Rexha were in attendance.

Contessa Mills

Contessa Mills presented “The Queen of Cups” at Fridman Gallery, in reference to the Tarot card that represents a romantic queen. The space was transformed into a poetic womb with drapery, sparkly looks and a sense of rich girl timeleness with her designs.

PUBLIC SERV-CE

PUBLIC SERV-CE’s latest runway show was called “Dark Matter,” a cinematic, stark, Bauhaus minimal and somewhat otherworldly outlook on fashion. The show featured a star-studded list of models that walked the show; NFL players Terrion Arnold, Miles Sanders, Khadarel Hodge, and Joshua Kaindoh walked alongside music artists Lekan, BDifferent and DC The Don.

Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs unveiled his latest runway collection with a slight whiff of melancholy. His latest runway show was called “Memory. Loss,” and featured skirts, rectangular silhousettes, grey wool, speckled skirts, black collared shirts and plaid maxi dresses. According to the designer, he said in a statement that: “Memories, both bittersweet and beautiful are a faculty of purpose influencing current and future actions- who we are, what we create, what we leave behind and what we carry forward. We allow our senses and instincts to guide us, respecting the appearance of these thoughts by preserving them.” The designer held a livestream event hosted by Lyas at Loosie’s nightclub, as well.

KHAITE

The much-loved bro brand’s fall collection at the Park Avenue Armory went goth for their latest runway show with velvet jackets, furry coats in black and white, calling to mind a skunk, all black suiting and embroidered collared shirts. The real show was front row, with stars like Post Malone, Naomi Watts, Sarah Pidgeon, Elsa Hosk and Olivia Palermo.
