Greece achieved outstanding success at the 11th annual Travvy Awards 2025, one of the travel industry’s most prestigious global events, held in Florida, USA. The country earned multiple top honors, including the Gold Award for Best Cruise Destination in Europe, surpassing Italy and Croatia, which received silver and bronze respectively.
Additionally, Greece was voted the second-best overall destination in Europe and took home the Gold Award for Best Destination in the Mediterranean, confirming its continued appeal among travelers worldwide. The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) received the Bronze Award for Best European Tourism Board, following Switzerland and Ireland.
Representing Greece at the ceremony were Konstantinos Harokopos, Head of the GNTO Office in America, and Fay Georgousi, a member of the GNTO team in the United States.
The “Oscars” of the global travel industry
Held on November 6, 2025, at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention Center in Florida, the Travvy Awards are often called the “Oscars of the Travel Industry.” Organized by TravelPulse, part of the Northstar Travel Group, the event takes place alongside CruiseWorld, a major conference dedicated to the cruise and travel trade sectors.
Each year, thousands of travel advisors from around the world cast their votes to recognize excellence across dozens of categories — from destinations and tour operators to travel products and industry professionals. Because the winners are chosen by those working directly with travelers, the Travvy Awards are considered one of the most credible indicators of quality and trust in the global tourism market.
Recognizing innovation and excellence
This year’s ceremony celebrated the destinations and organizations that continue to shape the future of global travel through innovation, sustainability, and exceptional service.
Industry leaders, travel executives, and media representatives attended the gala dinner, where winners were honored for enhancing traveler experiences and promoting responsible tourism practices.
Greece’s strong presence at the 2025 Travvy Awards reaffirms its position as a world-class destination — blending rich history, natural beauty, and hospitality with an evolving commitment to excellence in tourism.
