PAOK vs Celta Vigo: UEFA Europa League stats & head-to-head

  • PAOK and Celta Vigo have only met once before in major European football, though that sole meeting did come during this season’s UEFA Europa League group phase with the Spanish outfit winning 3-1 on home soil.

  • Celta Vigo have won each of their last four major European games against Greek opponents since November 1999, winning each of those matches by an exact two-goal margin.

  • PAOK Salonika haven’t won a knockout match in the UEFA Europa League or UEFA Cup in any of their last 16 attempts (D7 L9) since a 3-0 away win at Lyn in October 2003.

  • Celta Vigo are unbeaten across their last four away knockout round games in major European competition, winning twice and drawing twice. Their last defeat was 2-0 away at Werder Bremen in March 2007 in the UEFA Cup.

  • Giorgos Giakoumakis has netted four UEFA Europa League goals for PAOK this season – the only players to score more for the club in a single major European season are Stefanos Athanasiadis in 2014-15 (6) and Yiasemis Yiasemakis in 2001-02 (5).
