Crime, drama and deadly intrigue come to Buzz Classic Movies this week with a Saturday night showing of “D.O.A.”
The 1949 movie features Edmond O’Brien and Pamela Britton.
The film has earned a 88% “fresh” rating from the critics based on 25 reviews, and a 74% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes’ “Popcornmeter” based on more than 2,500 ratings.
“Frank Bigelow (Edmond O’Brien) is about to die, and he knows it. The accountant has been poisoned and has only 24 hours before the lethal concoction kills him,” says the Rotten Tomatoes summary of the movie. “Determined to find out who his murderer is, Frank, with the help of his assistant and girlfriend, Paula (Pamela Britton), begins to trace back over his last steps. As he frantically tries to unravel the mystery behind his own impending demise, his sleuthing leads him to a group of crooked businessmen and another murder.”
“D.O.A.” streams at 8 p.m. Saturday on The Signal’s streaming channel, The Buzz, available at buzzscv.com as well as streaming platforms including Roku and Apple TV.
