Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the declined 2.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the were Hellenic Exchanges Athens Stock Exchange SA (AT:), which rose 2.09% or 0.13 points to trade at 6.35 at the close. Interlife General Insurance Company SA (AT:) added 1.55% or 0.10 points to end at 6.54 and Holding Company ADMIE IPTO SA (AT:) was up 0.68% or 0.02 points to 2.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alpha Bank SA (AT:), which lost 4.39% or 0.17 points to trade at 3.72 in late trade. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:) declined 4.22% or 0.36 points to end at 8.18 and Qualco Group SA (AT:) shed 4.15% or 0.25 points to 5.77.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 107 to 19 and 9 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.51% or 25.34 to $5,034.84 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 2.06% or 1.34 to hit $66.39 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.75% or 1.23 to trade at $71.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.18, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 97.78.
