PanARMENIAN.Net – Greece highly values its cooperation with Armenia and reaffirms its support, the Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament said during a meeting with Armenia’s president in Athens.
Greece places great importance on cooperation with Armenia, Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament Nikitas Kaklamanis said during a meeting in Athens with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan.
“Today, we are pleased to welcome the President of the Republic of Armenia to the Hellenic Parliament. This is a very good opportunity to discuss issues related to bilateral cooperation. We reaffirm Greece’s support for Armenia. All fair demands that Armenia presents will receive support from Greece,” the Greek parliament speaker said, according to Armenpress.
He also emphasized the important role of the Armenian community in Greece in developing and strengthening relations between the two countries.
Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, the Armenian president noted that relations between Armenia and Greece have historically held significant importance. According to him, since Armenia’s independence those ties have developed dynamically.
“Our bilateral relations are particularly important at a time when Armenia is seeking to establish peace in the region. I would like to thank the Greek authorities for the support shown to Armenia, especially during difficult periods for our country,” the Armenian president said.
In honor of the state visit of President Vahagn Khachaturyan to the Hellenic Republic, an official dinner was hosted on behalf of Greek President Konstantinos Tasoulas.
