Devin Booker leaves Suns-Spurs injured

Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker left Thursday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs in the first half and has been ruled out with right hip soreness.

Booker started the game and checked out with 5:24 remaining in the first quarter.

The Suns turned the ball over with 5:48 remaining in the quarter and Booker called for a substitution. The Spurs hit a pull-up jumper on the following possession and Suns coach Jordan Ott called a timeout to get Booker out of the game.

He appeared to leave the court after checking out and checked back in with 4:46 remaining in the first half.

However, Booker left the game again with 2:35 remaining in the half.

The Suns’ star played a combined nine minutes. He scored five points (2 for 6) and collected a rebound.

Booker missed Phoenix’s last game before the All-Star break and eight of its last 10 games due to an ankle injury.

Prior to Thursday, he had played in 43 games this season, averaging 25.2 points, 6.3 assists and four rebounds in 33.9 minutes played.
