Samsung Galaxy S26 reportedly fixes one of the S25’s biggest camera issues

We’re less than a week away from the official launch of the Galaxy S26, and to no one’s surprise, much about the handsets has already been leaked. The leaks that have emerged so far are on the expected lines, suggesting that the upcoming S26 will be an incremental upgrade.

While this is disappointing for those who were expecting the next Galaxy S flagship to be a major upgrade, the Galaxy S26 series may come with a major camera improvement, putting it ahead of its predecessors when it comes to maintaining clarity of shots. Famed tipster @UniverseIce has shared the complete information about the specific camera improvement Samsung has planned for the S26.

The S26’s leaked camera specs sound boring, but it’s still worth noting

In terms of camera hardware, the Galaxy S26 and the S26 Plus models are rumored to feature a 50MP main camera, a 10MP telephoto lens, a 12MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 12MP wide-angle selfie lens. On the other hand, the Ultra model is expected to come with a 200MP wide-angle main lens, a 50MP Periscope telephoto lens with a 5x optical zoom, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and another 10MP telephoto lens with a 3x optical zoom.

These aren’t very different from those of last year’s Galaxy S25 series. Despite the similarity on the hardware level, the Galaxy S26 will reportedly have a camera feature called “24MP mode” that the S25 users will be deprived of, as per one of UniverseIce’s previous claims. On top of this, if the tipster’s latest claim is accurate, the Galaxy S26 will ship with a new noise reduction algorithm.

This is expected to result in photos of the sky appearing ‘smooth’ and ‘uniform blue.’ This wasn’t the case with the Galaxy S25, as many of its users complained on Reddit and the Samsung community website about awful digital distortions while capturing the sky, especially in low-light conditions. Unfortunately for the S25 users, software updates couldn’t fix the issue.

The Galaxy S26 won’t have any of these “fault lines,” according to the tipster. They also claim that the 24MP mode will maintain “excellent clarity” even when you zoom in. Time will tell whether these claims are true, but the tipster has already called the S26 “the best Galaxy flagship ever.”

If the Galaxy S26 sounds exciting, don’t wait for February 25. You can pre-reserve the phone right now to save some money.
