A Greek-American businessman has been missing in Southern Greece for more than two years after disappearing from his family home in Vlachiotis, Laconia, on September 21, 2023, under circumstances that remain unexplained.

Kostas Grevenitis, who divided his time between the United States and his hometown in Laconia, was last seen on the evening of his disappearance. In the days that followed, personal items discovered at his residence deepened concern among relatives and local authorities.

Authorities were alerted after he failed to attend scheduled legal appointments and could not be reached. Despite searches and ongoing inquiries, no confirmed trace of him has been found.

Missing Greek-American businessman had strong roots in Laconia

Grevenitis had built a successful business career in the United States, with restaurant ventures and multiple real estate investments. Despite his professional life abroad, he remained closely connected to his birthplace in Southern Greece.

He owned several properties in Vlachiotis, Laconia, including a renovated building in the village’s central square. Yet during visits, he reportedly preferred staying at his childhood home, reflecting his longstanding ties to the community.

Missed court appearance and travel plans

On the day he vanished, he was expected to appear in court as a witness. Later that afternoon, he had arranged to meet his attorney to finalize pending matters ahead of a planned return to the United States in early October.

Family members have expressed doubt that he would have left on foot. According to relatives, he routinely used his car, even for short distances, including trips to a nearby church approximately 100 meters from his residence, where he served as a chanter.

Phones found in case of missing Greek-American businessman

Further concern emerged when one of his two mobile phones was discovered two days later in a field near Agia Kyriaki, roughly 50 meters from land he owned. The device was reportedly found by passersby and handed over to authorities. One of his phones remains missing.

Witnesses last saw him around 8:00 p.m. on the evening he disappeared, suggesting that whatever occurred took place later that night. The circumstances surrounding the Greek-American businessman’s disappearance in Laconia remain unresolved as the investigation continues.
