On Saturday afternoon, Perfect celebrated the life of legendary stylist Melanie Ward with a dedicated zine launch, following her passing on 22 October 2025. Amid the frenzy of London Fashion Week, Ward’s friends and collaborators joined Katie Grand for an intimate gathering. The iconic Dover Street Market, at the heart of Ward’s beloved hometown, provided the perfect setting; a hub of fashion innovation that she herself helped transform.
Grand was joined by acclaimed creatives such as Stephen Jones, Giles Deacon, Adrian Joffe, Luella Bartley, and Christopher and Tammy Kane, all of whom came together to celebrate Ward’s enigmatic visual legacy. The afternoon’s heartfelt warmth was a tribute to her ‘deep humanity’, described by Hermès creative director Nadége Vanhée as ‘a reflection of who she was.’
As guests enjoyed refreshments from Rose Bakery, Ward’s work took centre stage; Perfect Issue 10 star Taira was captivated by the zine’s inviting pages. Ward’s signature styling is showcased throughout the limited-edition issue, from her collaborations with Kate Moss and Corinne Day to the playful shoot Teenage Precinct Shoppers, in which Ward herself starred.
As the afternoon drew to a close, guests left inspired, zines tucked under their arms. In 2026, Melanie Ward’s vision continues to shape fashion as we know it: she is Always Now.
