Jefferson City officials announced Thursday that the city’s finance and IT director, Shiela Pearre, is retiring this spring. Her last day in the role is scheduled for May 7, according to a news release from the city.

Pearre has worked for Jefferson City for over 16 years, according to the release. She started as a city accountant in 2009, then became chief accountant and interim director before moving into her current role in 2022.

The role of finance and IT director includes managing the city’s budget and advising city leaders on fiscal decisions.

“It has been an honor to serve the City of Jefferson,” Pearre said in the release. “I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities that I have had here and for the colleagues I’ve worked alongside.”

City Administrator Brian Crane emphasized Pearre’s expertise and commitment in the news release.

“She has been a trusted leader and a key member of our staff,” Crane said. “While she will be greatly missed, we wish her the very best in a well-earned retirement.”

Jefferson City officials said they will begin the process of selecting a new person to fill the role soon.
