The top four teams are guaranteed qualification for the league phase of the Champions League, although England’s Uefa coefficient is so strong that it is overwhelmingly likely to be one of the two associations with the highest coefficient for 2025-26, and thus earn a fifth spot in the league phase.
There are also places in the league phase reserved for the winners of this season’s Champions League and Europa League, regardless of their domestic league positions.
The fifth-placed Premier League team (or the sixth, see above) will qualify for the league phase of the Europa League, along with the FA Cup winners. If the FA Cup winners have already qualified for the Champions League, that Europa place reverts to the league.
As the two Carabao Cup finalists, Arsenal and Manchester City, are extremely likely to qualify for the Champions League by their league placing, the Conference League spot reserved for the Carabao Cup winners is likely to revert to the league.
If Crystal Palace win the Conference League but fail to reach the Champions League, they will qualify for the league phase of the Europa League.
The bottom three teams will be relegated to the Championship.
