2 arrested on drug, weapon charges after alleged altercation outside Franklin gaming hall

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky – Two people have been arrested following a physical altercation in Simpson County.

According to a release, the Franklin Police Department responded to The Mint Gaming Hall at approximately 7:30 am Sunday to a report of an altercation.

Officers say they arrived and found two adult patrons with security.

FPD deployed K9 RICO, who detected a positive suspected narcotics hit in a vehicle in the parking lot.

Police say a further investigation resulted in the location of suspected narcotics, a digital scale, money, and a loaded firearm.

According to the release, the firearm was searched in LINK/NCIC and determined to be stolen from a Tennessee agency.

The suspects were arrested and are charged with assault, drug possession, and related charges related to the recovered firearm.

The identities of the suspects have not been released.

The investigation is ongoing.
