Matthieu Blazy dressed four celebrities in Chanel for the 2026 BAFTAs this evening.

The Long-Awaited Arrival
I think it is fair to say we have all been waiting for a defining moment from Jessie Buckley this awards season, and she delivered it in Chanel, where she picked up the Best Leading Actress award. This royal blue velvet gown, accented with enamel brooches at the shoulders and a softly draped back, felt celebratory – a true awards-season statement.

We were tired of the nondescript red carpet looks, and while the Dior Golden Globes look was almost there, this is perfection, and I am glad it was adapted from what we saw on the Pre-Fall 2026 runway. Chanel shoes and Chanel High Jewelry, including the Attirante earrings in 18k white gold and diamonds, completed her look.

Tailoring With Attitude
Tilda Swinton was one of my favourites of the night in this Chanel Pre-Fall 2026 black tuxedo. It is a boxy silhouette, but she carried it with her usual poise and conviction. On anyone else it might have felt too severe. Not many could make this work without looking overwhelmed. The look was styled with a Chanel brooch, Chanel dual-colour shoes and Chanel High Jewelry.

New Direction
Gracie Abrams wore a Chanel Pre-Fall 2026 dress with a simple silhouette, allowing the intricate embellishments to do the talking. I like how she keeps stepping out of her understated red carpet persona under Chanel’s new creative direction. Chanel High Jewelry, including the N°5 Cascade ring, completed her look.

Relaxed Formality
My first thought was that Maya Rudolph’s Chanel Spring 2026 dress felt more Film Independent Spirit Awards than BAFTAs, but it is so in tune with her style that I am not actually complaining. However, some might call it an elevated sweater dress paired with a contrasting handkerchief-hem skirt, finished with two camellia-like floral appliqués at the waist. It reads relaxed, almost nonchalant, yet unmistakably Maya. Chanel High Jewelry completed her look.
