“The Art of Fashion: An Interactive Experience,” will open to the public on Saturday, March 7, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Webster Arts, 2 Summit Ave. Light refreshments will be served.
Art of Fashion is a living design exhibit that invites guests to step directly into the creative process. Throughout the gallery, St. Louis designer Madeline Mehler and design students from Nerinx Hall in Webster Groves and Kirkwood High School, along with the hair and makeup artists from Bewitching Beauty Events, will showcase live models as works of art.
Guests will have a chance to visit with each designer, learn about their inspiration and see how fashion styling comes alive in a beautiful partnership. A boutique-style shopping experience will also be at Webster Arts during the event, featuring handcrafted jewelry and fiber creations from local artisans. The boutique will remain in the gallery through March 20 for the public to purchase wearable art.
Two Q&A sessions during the afternoon of March 7 offer high school and college students the chance to learn about the designers, their inspiration and how that vision comes to life on camera. To take advantage of this free learning opportunity at either 2:30 or 3:30 p.m., students may register at webster-arts.org/project/the-art-of-fashion by March 5.
“The Art of Fashion is designed to spark inspiration and bring our community together around the power of fashion as an art form,” said event co-producer Amy Coyle.
This event is free and open to all.
