Greece and US hold LNG talks


Greek Minister of Environment and Energy Stavros Papastavrou is travelling to Washington to participate in high-level energy meetings that will strengthen strategic cooperation between Greece and the United States.

On 24 February, he will attend a ministerial meeting organised by the White House and the US National Energy Security Council on the topic of transatlantic gas security, to be held at the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace. Twelve European countries will be represented at the summit, alongside high-ranking EU officials and major American and European energy companies. A separate ministerial meeting of the Vertical Corridor countries will also take place.

On 25 February, Mr Papastavrou will hold bilateral meetings with Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum, who also serves as Chairman of the US National Energy Security Council, and with Energy Secretary Chris Wright, Vice Chairman of the Council. He will also meet with members of the US Congress and Senate.
