King of Meat servers are closing and all owners will be refunded

If you want all 30 King of Meat achievements, then you’ll need to get a move on, as Amazon is sunsetting the King of Meat servers in April, rendering it unplayable.

King of Meat is a co-op dungeon-crawling party platformer that launched just five months ago, and according to Amazon and Glowmade, the Xbox multiplayer game didn’t quite find enough of an audience. As a result, the team has announced it will shut down the game on April 9, 2026, and refund all purchasers. If you own the game or have purchased any Stamp packs, Amazon says Microsoft will issue a refund sometime between February 24 and April 9.

While King of Meat will be available to play up until that date, it has already been delisted from the Microsoft Store. This means new players will not be able to download the game or attempt the completion.

As King of Meat is an online-only title, all achievements will be discontinued once the servers go dark. If you own the game and are thinking of going for the 1,000G, it looks to be quite a difficult completion that will take roughly 100 hours.

Will you be going for the completion in this one before its servers go down and the game is lost to the digital ether? Let us know in the comments. If you missed it, 2K Games recently announced that it’s shutting down the servers of two games in July.
