RTX 5070 Ti graphics card
The RTX 5070 Ti is one of the best graphics cards you can go for if you’re looking for top-tier 1440p performance and solid 4K, too. You’ve got 16GB of GDDR7 memory here, which is enough to handle higher resolutions and textures, plus makes it a very capable card for demanding creative workflows, too, such as working in 3D or 4K video editing. It features 4th-gen ray tracing cores and 5th-gen tensor cores, the latter of which gives it a significant AI performance boost over the previous generation and allows for features like MFG, which can dramatically increase perceived fps. While the RTX 5080 has more CUDA cores and better ray tracing performance at 4K, RTX 5070 Ti builds are a fair bit more affordable, and a great choice if you want something powerful, but without spending upwards of $2,700.
Intel Core i9-14900KF processor
This is the top offering from Intel’s 14th-gen lineup, and a good pairing with the RTX 5070 Ti. It has 24 cores and 32 threads, which makes it brilliant for multitasking, streaming, and handling demanding creative workflows, like video editing, for example. On top of that, it boasts a very high boost clock speed of 6GHz, which, when combined with its large 32 MB L3 cache, makes it brilliant for 1440p and 4K gaming. It is built on the older LGA 1700 socket, which means that you’d have to swap out your motherboard if you wanted to upgrade to the Intel Core Ultra series, but for many, it’s a preferable option, as it helps save a bit of cash and still delivers outstanding performance across the board. Storage and RAM
You’ve got 32GB of DDR5 RAM here, which is great if you’re playing open-world titles at max settings and want everything looking and feeling super smooth. It’s also good for creatives as it’ll improve workflows by reducing lag and support with heavy multitasking, too. In terms of storage, you’ve got a decent 2TB SSD here, which is more than enough for a large gaming library, without the need to constantly manage to free up space.
Things to consider
In terms of pricing, you’re about $100 away from a typical RTX 5080, 7-265K prebuild, which is going to be better suited for 4K, ray tracing than the RTX 5070 Ti, so we’d highly advise seeing what’s out there if this sounds like it would be more your thing. It’s also worth looking into the generally more affordable RX 9070 XT models, which are comparable to the 5070 Ti when it comes to raw gaming performance. These tend to start around $1,800 from my experience, if you’re opting for something with an older CPU, less RAM, and less storage. A good RX 9070 XT with something like a Ryzen 7 7800X3D can hover closer to $2,000, which is a reasonable price for a 1440p/4K gaming PC. Check out our top deals below to see what’s out there.
